Amanda Schram, co-owner of Connections Speech- Language Therapy, earned a BBA in Marketing from Lamar University. She then went onto pursue and receive a Masters in Science in Speech Language Pathology from Northwestern State University. Amanda has experience with children, adults, and social groups. She has experience with autism, multiple disabilities, Down Syndrome, TBI, Cerebral Palsy, diverse language and articulation disorders, fluency disorders, phonological processing, auditory processing disorders, language impairments, and developmental delays. Amanda is trained in Augmentative and Alternative Communication including Picture Exchange System (PECS), Floor Time Therapy, Pragmatic Social Thinking Methods, and Every Move Counts. Amanda has a passion for social and pragmatic therapy in one-on-one scenarios and group settings. She is knowledgeable about the public school system and Special Education policies/procedures of IDEA. Amanda has worked in hospital, school, and clinic settings. Amanda is a member of TSHA and ASHA.
Amanda is a married mother of three and enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, at their home in Boerne.
Rebekah Gilmore, co-owner of Connections Speech-Language Therapy, is an accomplished, results-oriented pediatric occupational therapist with experience in clinical, home health, school, and virtual settings. She has been an occupational therapist for 8 years and has expertise in the areas of sensory processing, challenging behavior, and intellectual and physical developmental delays. She has experience working with a variety of diagnoses including autism, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, general developmental delays in motor skills, visual motor and perceptual skills, social-emotional skills, and self-care skills, Down syndrome, attention deficit hyperactive disorder, attention deficit disorder, and oppositional defiance disorder. She earned her Bachelors in Biology from The University of Texas at Austin, and her Masters in Occupational Therapy from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Rebekah is married with four children. She and her family reside in Boerne, Texas. She is eager to apply her unique skill set and passion for children to improve quality of life for those with disabilities and their families.
Stephanie Cross has been a practicing physical therapist in the hill country for 11 years. She received her Bachelors in Psychology at the University of North Texas in 2005 and her Masters degree in Physical Therapy at Angelo State University in 2008. Stephanie has treated patients in ICU, Acute Care, Acute Rehab, Outpatient, and Home Health settings. Stephanie has been a clinical instructor for physical therapy students completing their neurological clinical rotations. With her primary focus being in pediatrics and neurological rehabilitation, Stephanie has extensive experience serving patient populations of various neurological, developmental, orthopedic, chromosomal and cardiac dysfunction, including rare conditions. She is also highly experienced in adaptive equipment evaluation including wheelchairs, assistive devices, gait trainers, standers, and seating for ADLs. Stephanie is experienced in the treatment of cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, traumatic and non-traumatic brain injury, muscular dystrophy, amputation, osteogenesis imperfecta, traumatic fracture, brachial plexus injuries, heart defect, cancer, Down syndrome, various rare chromosomal abnormalities, general developmental delay, coordination disorder, autism, scoliosis, torticollis, disc herniation, joint pain, and urinary incontinence. Stephanie is McKenzie certified in treatment of the spine, and has received training in MNRI, pediatric NDT, and non-invansive pelvic floor retraining.
Stephanie is married and has lived in Boerne for over 10 years, and has 4 (soon to be 5) kids.
Ann McDonald earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio. She has over 30 years of experience as a speech-language pathologist treating children. Ann has worked in public elementary schools, preschools, and early intervention programs. She joined the Connections team in 2009. Ann has particular expertise with childhood fluency disorders (stuttering and cluttering), apraxia of speech, phonological disorders, and oral-motor problems. Ann is married and the mother of two grown children. She is active in her church and volunteers with Meals on Wheels in the Helotes area.
Kelly Taylor completed her coursework at the University of California, Santa Barbara where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences in 1994. She received her Master’s degree in Communication Disorders in 1996 from California State University, San Diego. Kelly has specialized in early intervention services for young children with oral-motor problems, articulation delays, and phonological disorders. She has 20 years’ experience as an SLP, including being the director for one of the Scottish Rite Childhood Language Centers in California. Kelly and her husband moved to San Antonio in 2012 with their two children. She joined the Connections team in 2017.
Sarah Glyn Bean earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Baylor University’s Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Since graduating, Sarah Glyn has had a variety of experiences working in a pediatric and adult outpatient clinic, inpatient acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and servicing a charter school. She joined the Connections team in 2019 after moving to the San Antonio/ Boerne area to be closer to family. Sarah Glyn has particular expertise with childhood language delays/disorders, language and literacy disorders, apraxia of speech, and articulation/ phonological disorders.
Physical Therapy Assistant
